Portals are a comfortable and safe way of centralising information, that allow, in a simple way, that executives, employees, providers and clients have access to it.
Depending on the orientation of the portal, the following classification can be established:
- Intranet, orientated towards the internal communication with the employees. Several researches have shown that a good communication of values and objectives of the company increases the motivation of the employees and increases productivity. The portal can be completed with utilities that allow the employees to ask for free days, to check their payslips, to manage their expenses, to check their e-mails, etc.
- Extranet, is orientated towards the communication with clients and providers, allowing access to useful information, special prices, tariffs, tracking of orders, etc. The extranet portal permits to ensure customer loyalty, improve relationships with providers and the projection of an image of modernity and advance.
We opt for open solutions as Liferay, JBoss Portal or eXo Platform that permit the creation of a portal with a base that is easily scalable and that has great functionality. Open solutions can be extended through already existing modules (standard JSR 168 portlets), as well as with the development of those needed.
